Crewe Alexandra will aim to take a step toward Wembley when they host Doncaster Rovers in the League Two Play-Off Semi-Final first leg today (5.30pm).

All eyes will be on Mornflake Stadium as a bumper crowd is expected for what promises to be an intense and exciting game.

The Opposition

Doncaster produced an incredible run of form to finish in fifth place. Sitting 20th in early March, they rallied and won 10 on the spin to power into the Play-Offs.

Unbeaten in their last 12, Rovers are in real form and have been installed as favourites to progress by bookmakers.

The Gaffer

Former West Ham youth player Grant McCann played over 500 games throughout his career, including 100 for Peterborough, before starting out as a coach.

He has been Posh boss twice, took charge of Hull City between 2019-2022, and was appointed manager at Doncaster for a second time at the end of last season.

Fighting Talk

Lee Bell: “We are into knockout football and we have to enjoy and embrace the next games. There is a different feel to it and a real excitement. We have to take the challenge on, we can’t let these occasions pass you by.”

Grant McCann: "We have to focus on Crewe for Monday, not anything else. We need to make sure all our preparations are good. We are all really looking forward to the game."

Head-to-Head

The two sides have met 109 times. Doncaster have won 44 compared to Crewe's 38. The remaining 27 games have been drawn.
